On Saturday September 22, 2018, Mark Henton Cobb, husband, father, brother and son-in-law passed away suddenly at the age of 45.
Mark will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend of 29 years Rhonda, and their precious children Marquis and Myra. Mark will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Fatima (Kelvin) Dennis, Malika (Cliff) Cobb, Charlene and brother Dwayne Roe, by his parents-in-law Ronald and Bertha Westbrook. Mark was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Wilma Jean, brother-in-law, Lonzy (Pete) Westbrook. Mark will be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Mark was born January 31, 1973 to the late Gilbert Royce Cobb and the late Wilma Jean Burgess in East Orange, New Jersey. Mark graduated from East Orange High School in 1991 and joined the Marine Corp right after. Three years later, he married the love of his life Rhonda whom he met in the 3rd grade and dated since high school. Mark and Rhonda lived in Irvine, Ca before moving back to New Jersey and then choosing to move back to California to raise their children.
Mark retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2009, as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. An avid movie lover and 49ers fan, Mark’s real and abiding passions were his family and friends. Mark was a great listener and role model to his younger cousins. He was always there to listen and offer advice. It was a passion of his to help others, which led him to graduate in 2016 from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work and Communication.
A viewing will be held Monday, October 08, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Miller-Jones Mortuary and Crematory 26855 – A Jefferson Ave., Murrieta, Ca 92562.
A Military Honors burial will be held on Tuesday, October 09, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at the Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, Ca 92122. Procession to gather promptly at 7:25 a.m. at 38170 Camarada Lane, 92563 for dove release and police escort.
