HELEN LOUISE GROVE JACOBS, 87, of Friendswood, TX passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018.She was born March 5, 1931 to Norman Grove and Ella Wingerd Grove in Chambersburg, PA.
She enjoyed big family dinners with everybody gathered around her large dining room table; it didn’t matter if it was a Thanksgiving feast or cold cut sandwiches, she loved having all 4 generations there.She retired from the University of Houston in 1997.Helen worked in the cafeteria at Westwood Elementary and Bales Intermediate schools after retiring, until she no longer was able to do so.Her hobbies included reading, needlepoint, spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Helen is survived by her 3 sons, Paul Jacobs, Jr. and wife Holly, Keith Jacobs and Chuck Jacobs; 5 grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, Kate, Cali, and Carson; 7 great-grandchildren, Owen, Lillian, Brynn, Daxon, Deason, Levi and AdiLynne; sister, Patricia Adams, formerly of Greenwood, LA; brother-in-law, Casimer Kriechbaum, formerly of Waynesboro, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
A private service will be held at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
