MISHAWAKA, IN - Edith Marie Gibson, 65, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center with her loving sisters at her side.

Edith was born to Roy and Thelma (Eubanks) Gibson in South Bend, on Dec. 12, 1952.

‘Marie', as she was called by family, is survived by a son, Nathanial Lipscomb of California; two sisters, Brenda (Curtis) Gill of New Carlisle and Dorothy Riffle of Elkhart; three nieces, Laurie (Don) Padgett of Elkhart, Rebecca Williams of South Bend, and Heather Hoover, also of South Bend; and four nephews, Dennis (Sandy) Hoover of South Bend, Dustin Hopper of Elkhart, Dale (Karli) Gibson of Mishawaka, and Nathan (Camille) Gibson who are serving in the Military.

Preceding Edith in death was daughter, Natalie Lipscomb; sister, Laura Hoover; brother, Dale Gibson; and her parents, Roy and Thelma Gibson.

Edith was very proud for having served almost ten years with the Army. She began in intelligence, but what she really enjoyed came later when she was head of the mess hall. She also loved playing Bingo. She would play any time she got the chance, even taking trips to different cities and towns to play.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place Friday, Sept. 28 at 5:30 p.m., at McGann Hay, University Chapel, located at 2313 E. Edison Rd., South Bend. Visitation with family begins at 5:00.
