Obituary for Rebecca Fields Allison
Rebecca Fields Allison, 77, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 in her home surrounded by family and friends.. She was born in Fayetteville, GA on July 18, 1941 to the late Reba and O. J. Fields. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School and Marsh Business College. She was retired from Larkin Coils with 30 years service. Rebecca was a long-time member of Lisbon Baptist Church in Fayetteville. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Harris. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carroll Allison of Fayetteville; her children, Carol Ann (Clark) Hodgin, of Fayetteville and Cyndi (Andrew) Mercaldo of Hurdle Mills, NC; her grandchildren, Cristopher (Laura) Mercaldo of Hillsborough, NC, Stephanie (Brad) Batten of Mebane, NC, and Brandon Hodgin of Fayetteville; her great-grandchild, Oakley Mercaldo of Hillsborough, NC; her brother, Thomas J. Fields of McDonough; her sister-in-law, Frances Harris of Fayetteville; her brother-in-law, Guy Harris of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Lisbon Baptist Church, with Pastor David Rathbun and Pastor Danny Wilson officiating. She will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Lisbon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, GA.
