She was born April 26, 1939 in Hanover, New Hampshire the daughter of Vaughan and Margaret (Fields) Truell.
A graduate of Hartford High School, Sally divided her time between raising a family, providing child care, and working locally for Cumberland Farms, Welch’s True Value, and Mac’s Market. Sally spent over 30 years living in Woodstock, VT but in more recent years moved a number of times, always to be closer to family, spending time in Virginia Beach, SC, Sneads Ferry, NC, and recently Enfield, NH.
Sally and her late husband Dwight used to go dancing regularly at the Hartford Elks Club and enjoyed going on weekend snowmobile trips. Sally followed several basketball teams on TV. In addition to her family, she loved her German Shepherd mix dog, Friday.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Holt Westerlund, her husband Aaron,her granddaughter, Lane Westerlund, and her grandson, Logan Westerlund, all of Myrtle Beach SC. Also, she leaves a sister Jean Henderson of Enfield NH, a niece Jean Patten of Enfield NH, a nephew Philip Sargent of Wilder VT and a niece Heather Tenney of Lowell MA. In addition to her parents Sally is pre-deceased by her husband of over 25 years, Dwight Edmond Holt, a brother Charles Truell and two sisters: Dolly Simmons and Nancy Tenney.
A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at the Greater Hartford United Church on Friday Sept. 28that 2:00pm with a reception to follow. Burial will be held privately at the Baker Hill Cemetery in Bridgewater Center, Vermont.
