Actor. He is remembered for playing the patriarch "Shawn Brady" in the daytime TV serial "The Days of Our Lives" (1983 to 2009). Raised in the Philadelphia suburb of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, he chose to pursue a career in entertainment and studied at Carnegie Institute of Technology from where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Acting. He performed under the name of Brett Parker during the early part of his career and made his television debut in a 1964 episode of the series "Gomer Pyle: USMC." This was followed with a wide range of credits which include "Hogan's Heroes", "Mission: Impossible", "Ironside" and "Battlestar Galactica." He died of complications from Parkinson's disease and dementia.
