Laura Lea Farmer Lynn

Powell, TN

Laura Lea Farmer Lynn - age 53, of Powell, passed into our Lord's Kingdom Monday, September 24, 2018 at her residence with her family surrounding her after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Laura was a member of home church which was pastored by David and Kim Geiger. She loved our Savior and shared her faith throughout her life. She was active in women's bible class; loved the outdoors and more importantly loved life. She taught two of her three children through home schooling until the 6th grade; both graduated from the University of Tennessee. Her son, William, is also scheduled to graduate this Fall. Laura met her husband on a blind date in April 1987. He would later tell others that he knew that night she would be his wife; it was magic. Three months later, Laura flew to Germany and married William in Denmark. She was beside him throughout his career of over 20 years. Through all of life's ups and downs, they never stopped loving each other. In August, Laura and her husband LTC (R) William Lynn IV celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Farmer and mother, Colene Farmer.

She is survived by her step-mother, Jennie Snyder Farmer, sister Dawn and brother-in-law Randy Reagan, her husband William Lynn IV, son William Lynn V, daughters Heather and Ashley Lynn; Step-brothers Woody Snyder, Stephen Snyder, and Scott Snyder; mother-in-law Virginia Lynn, sister-in-law Vicky and Jody Lynn, and brother-in-law Robert (Linda) Lynn; nieces Jordan (Luke) Wilkerson, Natalie (Wes) Caylor, Emily (Nic) Nicaud, and nephew Will (Andrea) Reagan. She also leaves her aunt Norma Farmer and aunt Mildred Smith, as well as many beloved cousins, great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her many friends.

The family would like to thank all those who have loved and cared for Laura throughout her life; especially UT Medical Hospital, UT Medical Hospice, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Dr. Sarbah (Parkwest Medical Hospital) and the nurses on the 4th floor of Parkwest Hospital.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with a celebration of life service starting at 6:45 p.m. at The Church at Knoxville, Mr. Randy Reagan officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:15 a.m. Thursday September 27, 2018 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway, for a graveside service and interment at 9:30 a.m. Serving the family, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
