Bertha Allen Passed away Friday morning Oct. 21, 2016. Bertha was born June 4, 1927 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of Turpin and Nellie Hill. She worked in food service at GM and Vicksburg Schools. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and playing with her grandchildren. On Aug. 15, 1947 she was married to Norman Allen, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Susan (Gary) Vandlen, Richard (Ann) Allen, 5 grandchildren: Chris, Corey, Brandy, Brian, and Rick, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings Charles Hill, Margaret Jackson, Earl Hill, and Pearl Kimble. Visitation will be held from 12 – 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E Centre Ave., where the service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Alzheimer's Association.
