David Burton Barr entered this life on February 9, 1954 in Dearborn, Michigan. He entered Eternal Life on April 5, 2006 at Loma Linda, California. The ICU nursing staff at Loma Linda University Hospital joined the family in the hospital room on April 5 to mourn Dave's passing and to give praise to God. The doctors, nurses and chaplains at Loma Linda will be remembered by the family for their compassion, kindness and excellent care of Dave. Dave had been employed by the Automobile Club of Southern California for 25 years as a trainer and manager. He was often involved in "special projects" for the Club. The family is so appreciative of the encouragements and kindnesses shown by Dave's co-workers through out his battle with cancer. Dave is survived by Julie, his devoted wife of 22 years, his two daughters, Brittany and Courtney and his son Austin of Temecula, his parents, Jack and Helene Barr of Thousand Oaks, his sister, Carol Trumpy also of Thousand Oaks. Dave was greatly esteemed by all his extended family. Dave's great friend, Pastor Doug Posey will officiate at his service on Wednesday, April 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 200 West Bethany Court, Thousand Oaks. His interment will be at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura. Dave and Julie's life verse was Philippians 4:8. "Finally, brothers whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things."
