Jim served in the United States Army. Jim worked for the Monongalia County Board of Education as a janitor and later as a school bus driver. He loved farming, and owned the farm belonging to his late great grandfather, David L. Wade.
Jim is survived by his wife, Hazel Pearl Smith Yost; sons Arthur Yost of Harrodsburg, KY Roger Yost of Morgantown; grandchildren: Brett Yost (and wife Samantha), and Hollie Yost all of Harrodsburg, KY, Claudia Sue McIe (Mike Smith) of Morgantown, WV; 4 great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by a sister, June Whetzel of Morgantown, WV, sister, Neva (Delbert) Stull of Clarksburg, WV, and a brother John Yost of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Lee Yost and a daughter, Carol Sue Martisko.
Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 26, from 4-8 pm and again on Thursday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery with graveside military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
