A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Vietnam war 1970 to 1973, earning numerous commendations including: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 Device, 2 O/S Bars, Bronze Star Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. Following his time in the service, Chuck started his own security business, Electro Alarm Systems, where he was the owner and operator for 40 years. Having great pride in his business, he was a wonderful mentor to many and loved to teach others about his trade. He reveled in his mentees’ success, and even sold his business to one of his former mentees, Tom Ferry, upon his retirement.
To put it simply, Chuck was amazing. His sense of humor was one of a kind, and he wasn't afraid to talk politics just to get a reaction. To know Chuck was to know his famous clichés and sayings. Down to earth and always fair, he was kind-hearted and always willing to help others. He was fun at heart, and lived for today because, after all, he knew tomorrow was never promised. While he was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan, his favorite games to attend were any played by his beloved grandson, Ty, which made him light up.
