Miriam Darden Allen, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Fellowship Home at Meriwether. She was the daughter of Lena Susan and Rozier Madison Darden.

A lifelong resident of Milledgeville, she served as a Cytotechnologist at Baldwin County Hospital for 26 years. She loved playing bridge and being with family and friends. She was a former member of Old Capital Garden Club, Town and Country Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and helped with Meals on Wheel and the food pantry. She was a devoted member of the Milledgeville First United Methodist Church, where she served many years on the Altar Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Whitaker Allen, Jr., her son William Richard Becker (Bill), and her son Edwin Whitaker Allen, III (Buddy).

She is survived by her twin sister Sara Darden Register, Children Susan Yoshida (Rod), Betsy Allen, Billy Allen (Sandra), Powell Allen (Angie), Cathy McDonald (Scott), daughter-in-law Dianne Becker Popp, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Milledgeville First United Methodist Church, 366 Log Cabin Rd., NE. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Milledgeville First United Methodist Building Fund.

Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
