He was born August 10, 1937 in Lexington, son of the late David X. and Lillian M. (McDonald) Regan. Tom married Nancy VanRenterghem on November 25, 1959 in Croswell.
Tom was a retired school teacher, challenging and inspiring students at Cros-Lex Schools in his unique way for 46 years. He attended St. Clair County Community College and graduated from Eastern Michigan University. He played baseball for the community college and loved all sports. He was a coach, an announcer and the Athletic Director for many years. After retirement, he was the Sexton for the Lexington Cemetery and local historian, sharing his incredible historical knowledge with anyone who wanted to chat. Tom was known to his grandchildren as the doughnut fairy, was an avid Yankees fan, book reader and loved his village of Lexington.
Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy; children Tim (Peggy) Regan of Lexington, Jeffery (Katie) Regan of Rockford and Robin (Richard) Geiger of Saugutuck; one brother, Rev. Jeffrey (Linda) Regan of Shelby and 7 grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) Regan, Taylor (Brad) Hieftje, Zach and Jonah Geiger, Nathan, Nicole, and Samantha Regan.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 27 at the Croswell Wesleyan Church. Pastor Phil Count will officiate. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-9 PM Wednesday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Lexington, and 10-11 AM Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Thomas Regan Memorial Scholarship Fund.
