Debbie West, age 50, of Mount Gilead, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, September 23, 2018, at the Woodside Village Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 28, 1968, in Mount Gilead, the daughter of the late Jesse W. and Mary Lou (Betz) West. Debbie graduated from Mount Gilead High School with the class of 1987.
Debbie was full of love and always embraced life with a wonderful attitude. She often visited the local businesses to catch up with the owners and in general support the local shops. She knew just about everyone in town and never met a stranger as she could start up a conversation with anyone. Her love for her family was abundant. She was always the first to play with the younger ones at the family reunions which she loved so dearly. Often at family reunions, Debbie could be found playing corn hole. She was the most serious player you would ever encounter on the boards.
Debbie often could be found watching T.V. as she loved watching Scooby Doo, NCIS, Cup Cake Wars, and anything on the Hallmark Channel. She also enjoyed the Harry Porter movies, the Good Witch movies, and Maximum Overdrive movie. Debbie also loved Wendy’s and in particular the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger without the tomato. She also loved BLT’s without the tomato. Over the years Debbie has found great joy in collecting Barbie’s and Bennie Babies.
One of Debbie’s favorite things to do was watch the truck and tractor pulls. She was extremely ecstatic when the Linder Brother’s gave her a t-shirt. During Halloween, Debbie loved to dress up and pass out candy to the children. She also enjoyed Christmas time and especially traveling to all the Christmas Bazaars in the area.
Debbie will be remembered by her family and friends for her wonderful smile, infectious laugh, and ability to talk to others.
She will be dearly missed by her brothers: Brad (Karen), Alan, Brian, and Jeff West; sister: Becky (Jim) Gerhart; 6 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; and 1 great-great nephew.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and niece: Jessica West-Chrobak
Her family will have a memorial and graveside service at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her parents in Rivercliff Cemetery.
