He was born April 4, 1931, in Grayson County, Va.
Mr. Johnson was a county residence most of his life. He retired Dec. 31, 1987, from Chrysler, Newark, Del. He was a life member of American Legion Post 194 of Rising Sun, a life member of VFW Post 8185 of Port Deposit and a life member of UAW Local 1183, Newark. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Johnson; a son, Johnnie J. Johnson of Newark; two daughters, Frances Arlene Tortorelli of Monroe, N.Y. and Robin Rae Mills of Newark; a brother, Ernest Harold Johnson of Sun City, Ariz.; a sister Charlotte Jean Stoner of Elkton; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is set from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Donald E. Alford officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Elkton.
