Actor, Singer. He began singing in his teens with New York street-corner groups like The Chimes and The Schoolboys. Member of of the United States Marine Corps, he settled in Britain in the 70s, where Matthews had a huge hit in 1975 with 'Fool'. The song became a top ten hit in more than fifteen countries across Europe. In 1977, he made his film debut in "The Butterfly Ball", but is best known for his role in James Cameron's film "Aliens" (1986). Matthews also appeared in "Omen III: The Final Conflict", "Ragtime", "Superman III", "The Fifht Element" and "Tomorrow Never Dies". Matthews’ last film role was in "The Price of Death", a 2018 western by director Chip Baker.
