Robert Blanton, 88, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired shipping manager for the old Container Corp. of America and a member of First Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors: his wife, the former Viola Coomer; a son, R. Kenneth Blanton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. Burial: Resthaven Memorial. Visitation: after 9 a.m. Friday. Memorial gifts: his church.
