Absent, Sick in hospital on Nov & Dec 1863 Roll.
Listed on Roll dated April 1864 as detailed as nurse in hospital in Lynchburg, VA.
Mortally Wounded (gunshot through left shoulder and top part of lung), POW 10/19/1864 in Battle of Cedar Creek, VA.; died of wounds in U.S. hospital.

The 14th Infantry Regiment, formerly the 4th Volunteers, completed its organization in June, 1861, at Garysburg, North Carolina. Its companies were raised in the counties of Halifax, Onslow, Anson, Cleveland, Wake, Cumberland, Northampton, Stanly, and Davidson.
