Mrs. Wanda Jean (Whelan) McClure, age 73, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on November 21, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Erman and Emma Jean Lashley Dever. Her mother died when she was very young and was raised by her step mother, Florence Kleber Dever. Wanda was a 1964 graduate of Butler High School in Louisville. She was united in marriage on February 28, 1965 at St. John United Methodist Church to Al Breeden, Sr. This union was blessed with a son, Al, Jr. and a daughter, Michelle. She later was united in marriage on March 15, 1976 at City Hall in Louisville, Kentucky to Larry Ray Whelan, Sr. This union of five years was blessed to raise, Larry, Jr., Karen, Janet Lee and Crystal. Larry, Sr. passed away on December 6, 1981. Wanda had moved to Madison in 1978 and enjoyed cleaning the Catholic churches in Madison as well as for Father Herpenau. She had been a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church during her marriage to Larry. She had worked for the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Madison and at the Hanover Nursing Center. She retired after 20 years with the Madison State Hospital as a dietitian. Her last marriage was to Marshall McClure and they raised Shawn. She was a Gold Medallion Art Student, Rita Mae Brown Mystery Writer, and enjoyed gardening and flowers. Wanda dearly loved her grand dog, Buddy. She fought a hard battle with pancreatic cancer and the effects of the disease. Wanda died on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at 2:53 a.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY
Wanda will be missed by her loving daughters, Michelle L. Jeffries and her husband, Kenneth of Pleasureville, Kentucky, Crystal J. Whelan and her companion, Justin Richardson of Lexington, Kentucky, Karen Marie Dawson of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Janet Lee Yarbrough and her husband, Brandon of Shelbyville, Kentucky; her loving sons, Al Breeden, Jr. of Paducah, Kentucky, Larry R. Whelan, Jr. and his wife, Evelyn of Madison, Indiana, and Shawn McClure; her grandchildren, Raymond, Anthony, Allen, Jayden, Chasity, Casey, Avery, Shelby, Philip, Tiffany, Angel, Rachel, Devin, Shane, Lauren, Josh, Matthew, and Taylor; 16 great grandchildren; and her sister, Diane Dever of Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Erman Dever, her mother, Emma Jean Lashley Dever, her step mother that raised her, Florence Kleber Dever, her husband, Larry Ray Whelan, Sr. died December 6, 1981, her son, Ricky Lee Whelan, died August 16, 2012, her sister, Patsy Dever, died September 4, 1943.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., by Larry Whelan Jr. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery,305 West State Street in Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may call Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
