Obituary of Geraldine A. Herndon
Geraldine A. Herndon, 90, passed away on March 26, 2016 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born in Canton, Ohio on March 2, 1926 but lived in the Kingsport area after marrying Roy Adams of Fall Branch, who was a WW II veteran. After his death, she married Paul T. Herndon of Kingsport, also a WWII veteran and an employee of Holston Ordinance, where he retired in 1990.

Mrs. Herndon was a retired school teacher and librarian at Blountville Elementary School where she was truly loved by her students. Mrs. Herndon attended Sunnyside Baptist Church and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She is preceded in death by her husbands: Roy Adams and Paul Herndon; a newborn son, Lee Adams; one daughter, Linda Vaughn; and one grandson, Billy Adams.

She is survived by her children: Robin Adams, Rita Poole and step-daughter, Sue Knittle; several grandchildren, Kelly Duncan, Melissa Poole, Sam and Teresa Vaughn, Mike, Joe, Lee, Shelly, Vicki, and Roy Adams; several great grandchildren; and a wonderful caregiver Ms. Alicia Gray.

The family will receive friends at East Lawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow with Dr. Roy Graves of Sunnyside Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Apostles of East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, Tennessee.
