Jerry Mason Hays
EAST MOUNTAIN — Jerry Mason Hays, age 56, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born July 21, 1962 in Henderson, Texas. He was the third child of Jim and Dena Hays. He graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1980. Jerry owned and operated Insco Inc. in White Oak, Texas.
Jerry’s pride and joy were his children Meagan and Mason. Jerry possessed a gentle, loving heart that drew people to him. His wit and sense of humor was a quality that brought smiles and laughter to those who knew him. His unique ability to tag his friends with silly nicknames will always be remembered and those names will continue to stick with his friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Dena Hays, and older brother, James Hays. He is survived by his father, Jim Hays of White Oak; daughter Meagan Hays of Longview; son Mason Hays of Longview; sister and brother-in-law Rhonda and Bill Bybel of White Oak; brother Jeff Hays of Longview; nieces Emily Bybel Conner and husband Perry; Abbey Bybel Thompson and husband Adam; Kimber Hays and Darcie Hays; nephews Jamason and Branson Hays; aunt and uncle Linda and Bobby Watkins of Lindale; numerous cousins, loved ones, and friends.
Pallbearers include Kevin Morris, Kyle Hughes, Jeff Wright, Mike Nix, Dwayne Simmons, Fred Waddington and Steve Loosley.
The family will have visitation for Jerry on Monday, September 24th, from 1pm-2pm at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview with services following at 2pm. Burial will be at Rosewood Park. An online guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
