Mae Frances Watkins Harris, 86, of Wadeville Community, Mt. Gilead, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at Forrest Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center of Albemarle.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 24, at Clark's Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Wadeville, of which she was a member, with burial in the Bruton Cemetery, Wadeville.
Mrs. Harris was born in Montgomery County, to the late Lymon Horne and Gertrude Watkins Ferguson.
She was a 30 year retiree of BC Moore's Department Store of Troy; a receptionist at Council on Aging and formerly employed with the Montgomery County School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Harris, brother Daniel Deberry and a grandson, Desmond Harris.
She is survived by six children; Barry Harris, Carol Pemberton Little and Royce Harris, all of Mt. Gilead, Gregory Harris of Hinesville, Ga., Deborah Harris of Charlotte and Rhonda Adjip of Lithonia, Ga.; special son, Charles Watkins of Ellicott City, Md.; sister, Mary Massey of Newark, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
