MARION, Va. Virginia Elizabeth Holmes, age 41, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, at her home in Marion, Va. Elizabeth was born in Marion, on June 28, 1977. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol "Pat" Holmes; and grandparents, George and Virginia Holmes. She graduated from Marion Senior High School Class of 1995. She later graduated from Virginia Highlands Community College and attended Radford University. Elizabeth taught many years for Smyth County Schools. Survivors include her father, Marvin Holmes; two daughters, Izetta and Kanzada Holmes; significant other, Tony Heath; brother, Greg McMillian and wife, Patty; sister, Cynthia "Sis" Pruitt and husband, Jimmy; grandmother, Jean Talbert; uncle, Rex McMillian; special friend, Rachel Clark; and several other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion, with Pastor Charles Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at the Wassum Cemetery in Atkins. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
