Tamara Elaine Allen, 58, of Canyon, was called home to the Father on Friday, September 21, 2018.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Washington Ave. Christian Church, 3800 S. Washington St. with Elder Cary Pratt of Trinity Fellowship Church officiating.
Tammy, as she was known to friends and family, was born October 13, 1959 in Wellington, Kansas to Thurston and Carol Atchley. Tammy met the love of her life Greg Allen in 1982 and from that point on they were inseparable. Tammy and Greg were officially married on September 24, 1994 and are still inseparable. Tammy and Greg raised a son Jason who grew up to be a very fine man and was the pride of her life. Tammy worked for 14 years at Jack B. Kelley, 10 years at Bell Helicopter, and most recently worked for EnergyNet. She achieved a Bachelor degree in Business Administration Magna Cum Laude from Wayland Baptist University in 1998. She also achieved her Aerospace Manufacturing Certification in 2004 for Bell Helicopter. She was in the Who's Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges in 2003. Tammy loved her Lord God with all of her heart, and was always encouraging others to love God more. She loved anything artistic and was a very accomplished at sewing, pottery, painting, stained glass, and most recently she was learning metal detecting. Greg called her his all or nothing girl because when she loved, she loved with everything she had. She had an infectious smile and an awesome laugh and could cheer you up in a second. She loved anything to do with the water and was an avid water skier, and any place with a shore was at the top of her list. Tammy had friends wherever she went and made a difference to them always.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thurston Atchley.
Survivors include her husband Greg Allen of Canyon; her son, Jason Vance and wife Mandy of Canyon; her mother, Carol Atchley of Amarillo; two brothers, Michael Lister and wife Rita of Groom, and Stephen Atchley and wife Debra of Wellington, KS; two sisters, Debra Camp and husband Michael of Blanchard, OK, and Susan Ramey and husband Bill of Pine, CO; and one grandson, Jason Vance, Jr.
