Mrs. Juanita "Nita" Hill Bell, 72, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Atmore, suddenly fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Sun., Aug. 19, 2018, at Jackson Community Hospital in Miami.

A native of Camden, Juanita was reared in Atmore, where she was a graduate of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She was also a graduate of Alabama Lutheran Academy and College. She received her bachelor's degree from Concordia Teacher's College in Seward, Neb.. Upon graduation, Mrs. Hill-Bell began teaching at Trinity Lutheran School in Montgomery, where she taught for over 20 years.

After relocating to Miami, she continued her teaching career at Mt. Olive Lutheran School and St. Paul Lutheran School, both in Miami.

She received many awards and recognition of 25 and 30 years of ministering in Lutheran Education and was the recipient of the Ben Eggers Outstanding Lutheran Educator Award, presented by the Florida-Georgia Lutheran District.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Hank" Bell; and her parents, William and Lizzie Mae Hill.

Those left to cherish memories of her life are a devoted niece, Shanta Bowen, and grandnephew, Kyle C. Jackson, both of Miami, whom she considered as her own children; three sisters, Barbara Ann (Herman) Williams of Detroit, Mich., Elaine Martin and Geraldine Brown of Atmore; three brothers, Joe Richard (Bessie Mae) Hill of Atmore, Rogers (Irma) Martin of Camden and Randy (Angela) Martin of Lansing, Mich.; six step-children, Donna, Vincent, Fran, Phillip, Lisa and Lori Bell; a step-grandson, Charles Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children and friends.

A funeral service was held on Aug. 25, 2018, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Atmore with the Rev. Ulmer Marshall as eulogist and he Rev. Benjamin Stallworth Sr. as host pastor. Inhumation was in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel LLC directing.
