Charlotte Ann Turner, 63, of Weston passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018, after a extended battle with an illness.
She was born in Marlinton, WV, on December 10, 1954 a daughter of Phillis Jewel Carpenter Biggs and the late Lacy Wiseman. On June 2, 2000 she married her best friend, James Carol Turner and they shared 18 wonderful years.
Those left smiling at their memories of Charlotte are her four children, Tamela Lynn Greene and fiancé, Scott Miller, Vivian Elaine McCarty and boyfriend, Kevin Allen, Billie Jean Nalley and husband, Terance and Jeremy Jason McCarty and wife, Anna; four step children, Jimmy Turner and wife, Myrtle, Jamie Snider and husband, Mark, Jeff Turner and Chris Turner and wife, Ericka; one sister, Pamela Carpenter; 25 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren with three additional on-the-way; very special friend, Melinda Orrahood and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Charlotte was preceded in death by her stepfather, Curtis Biggs; one brother, Tim Wiseman and one grandson, Benjamin Pritt. She knew early in life that caring for others was her calling. Charlotte received her LPN License from Greenbrier School of Practical Nursing and immediately went to work. Twenty-three years of her career were spent caring for patients at the State Hospital in Weston. Her giving nature was not to be confused with weakness - she was very tenacious and feisty. It was her tenacity and family support that got her through four years of going to school five days a week, caring for her family and working double shifts on the weekends until she earned her BSN from WV Wesleyan College. She proudly spent the rest of her career as an R.N. Some of her best years were spent working for USNN Network with whom she was a nursing supervisor for the VA nursing home. Charlotte dearly loved being of service to the veterans who had sacrificed for our country. Though she was strong-willed and hard working, Charlotte wasn’t all work and no play. She loved life and laughter. Just from the noise coming from her home on game day, all of her neighbors knew what an enthusiastic WVU fan she was! She loved being outdoors and gardening. She and her husband enjoyed traveling- one of their favorite memories was from a winning trip to Las Vegas. Of course, her very best times were spent with the family she loved so much. She loved her son-in-law, Mr. Puck just like one of her own. Charlotte will forever be in their hearts and never be far from their minds, especially when they are feeding her pet alligator, Jacob.
Friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 1 - 8 p.m., on Monday, September 24, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday from the St. Matthew United Methodist Church located at 120 E. 3rd St. in Weston with Reverend Joe Shreeve officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic Cemetery.
The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored and privileged to serve the family of Charlotte Ann Turner.
