Charles A. Kenney

Charles Albert Kenney, aged 84 years, died Feb. 12, at the home of his son, Llewellyn Kenney, of Bath. The body was taken to his home in Knox for burial.

Mr. Kenney was born in Knox, a son of Daniel and Cynthia Kenney and all his life resided there with farming as his only occupation. A year ago last September he went to live with his son in Bath. He had been in failing health for some time, and was obliged to take his bed last May since which time he had failed rapidly. He was tenderly cared for by his son's wife, Mrs. Llewellyn Kenney.

Mr. Kenney was of a jovial disposition and left many friends. He held a number of offices in his native town, having served as a member and chairman of the board of selectmen for a number of years. He was for many years a member of the grange in his home town.

In 1862 her married Miss Servilla [should read Sevilla per Karen Tomecek] McGray of Knox, who died forty years ago. To this union seven children were born; four sons, Llewellyn of Bath, Wesley of Howard, R. I., Clarence, who passed away eight years ago and Chester, whose address is unknown; three daughters, Mrs. Evie J. McKenney of Waterville, Mrs. Nancy Crosby of Thorndike and Mrs. Ada Bradford of Knox. He is also survived by one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clara Kenney of Providence, R. I., thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great, great, grandchild.

Funeral services were held at Brooks church Feb. 16. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb until spring, when interment well be made in the East Knox Cemetery.
