NORTH SMITHFIELD — Thomas W. Shaw, 66, of Wilks Ave., died June 15, 2017 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Kathy (Eaton) Shaw, whom he married on April 6, 1974.

Born in Worcester, Mass., he was the son of the late Wallace Shaw and the late Lois (Wade) Shaw.

Mr. Shaw was a graduate of North Smithfield High School and over his career he worked for Garelick Farms, Ken's Foods and most recently for Leeway in North Smithfield. Thomas was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and he enjoyed vacationing at Disney World. He was a friend to everyone he met and, most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his wife Kathy, he is survived by two daughters, Laurie Silvia, and her husband, Joshua, of North Smithfield; and Kelly Fricke, and her husband, John, of North Smithfield; two brothers, Richard Shaw, and his wife Patricia Shaw, of Pascoag; and Bruce Shaw, and his wife, Kim-Marie, of North Smithfield; a sister, Deborah Shaw, of West Warwick; five grandchildren, Kayla Shaw, Brenden and Austin Silvia and Jake and Emma Fricke; and two uncles, William Wade, of Cape Coral, Fla., and John Wade, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was the brother of the late James Shaw.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4–8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
