James Richard Agee, 74, of Esmont, departed this life on Saturday April 7, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on April 1, 1944, a son of Mary "Mabel" (Morris) Agee and the late George Agee.
James retired from the Transportation Department at the University of Virginia after more than 40 years of service at both the Blue Ridge and University Hospitals. He had also worked as a Car Salesman for the former Baker Chevrolet in Scottsville. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Esmont and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing the lottery.
In addition to his mother, Mabel of Esmont, he leaves behind to cherish his memories, a son, Vincent Anderson (Trice) of Charlottesville; three sisters: Teresa Ageeof Esmont, Linda Agee of Charlottesville, and Alge Sisson (James) of Texas; four grandchildren: D'Andrea Anderson and Martina Anderson and Kareem and Kainan Anderson; a special nephew, "Buck" Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church by the Reverend Dorn H. Lewis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
