John was born March 30, 1929 to his parents, Eugene and Leta (Clark) Glasscock. John graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1947. On August 20, 1951, John married June Green, and they recently celebrated their 67th anniversary. Dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John’s family was his life. Never missing a concert, play, or sporting event. He was always there for any car, house, painting or yard project providing expert advise and a helping hand. He led his family by example and his quiet spirit spoke loudly of his inner character. After retiring from Therm-O-Disc in 1991, John and his wife, June, moved to their current home where he enjoyed the landscape committee. Attending Woodville Grace Brethren Church and more recently First Missionary Alliance (MAC). John never missed an opportunity to go to church on Sunday. A priority in his life that provided direction and support in his personal walk with the Lord.
John is survived by his wife, June Elaine Glasscock; daughter, Robin (Al) Thompson; granddaughter, Megan (Craig) Shipper; grandson, Callen (Jena) Thompson; great-granddaughters, Makenzie and Izabelle Shipper; sister, Gerry Schisler; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Frances Glasscock.
Friends and family may visit from 1:00-2:00 pm on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. Dr. Rich Nichols will officiate the 2:00 pm funeral service. John will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
