The Waterloo Region Record, 16 July 2018:
BECHTEL, Doris Pauline Passed away peacefully at The Village of Winston Park LTC, Kitchener on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the age of 91. Wife of the late Willard Bechtel. Mother of Sandra (Dan) Ulrich, Paul (Joyce) Bechtel and Ross (Teresa) Bechtel. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Announcements will follow in a future edition of the KW Record. The Waterloo Region Record, 13 Sept 2018:
BECHTEL, Doris Pauline Peacefully, at The Village of Winston Park on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Wife of the late Willard Bechtel who predeceased her in 1991. Survived by daughter Sandra (Dan) Ulrich and sons Paul (Joyce) and Ross (Teresa). Also remembered by grandchildren Jennifer Bechtel, Kimberley (Steve) Wilhelm, Angela and Ryan Bechtel and great-grandchildren Bradley and Brandon Wilhelm. Doris was born November 17, 1926, and one sister Helen (Nelson) Horst is still living. Her brother Ralph and sister-in-law Doris Weber predeceased her. In addition, she is survived by sisters-in-law Florence and Bernice Moncur and Beatrice Meirowski. Doris was a faithful member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church where she sang in the choir and knotted comforters with the W.M.A., also holding executive positions. She retired from many years with Mutual Life (now Sun Life Financial) and subsequently enjoyed numerous years of travelling. Thanks to the staff of The Village of Winston Park where Doris spent her final years. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church , 57 Stirling Ave. N, Kitchener, visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., immediately followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. A lunch will follow. Cremation has taken place; a private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee Ontario or House of Friendship and can be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St S., Waterloo
