Matthew N. Moyer, 52, of Knox, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, due to a sudden heart attack.

Born October 4, 1965, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Arthur E. and Donna M. Aaron Moyer.

He was a 1983 graduate of Keystone High School, where he played football and basketball and a 1987 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

Matt was an investigator for NT Concepts in Boyers. He was of the Catholic faith. Matt was a member of the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post #720 of Knox and was a sports enthusiast. He was an avid fan of the Syracuse Orange basketball team and Minnesota Vikings football and enjoyed Penn State football and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins.

Survivors include one brother, Mark C. Moyer and his wife, Janet, of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Mary Ellen Parks and her husband, Bob, of Lock Haven; Maureen Allen, Lisa Mumford and her husband, Dave, and Marla McCleary and her husband, Bruce, all of Knox.

Matt is also survived by three nephews, Aaron Parks and Adam Parks of Lock Haven and Seth McCleary and his wife, Kylie, of Danville; two nieces, Sabra Douthit and her husband, Mike, of Danville and Alexa Moyer of Houston, Texas and one great-nephew, Oliver Douthit of Danville.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Matt was preceded in death by a nephew, Zachary Moyer on January 20, 2014.

Family and friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018, at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, in the funeral home with Father Samuel Bungo officiating.

Interment will follow in the Knox Union Cemetery.
