She was a devoted wife of the late Oliver Wendell Evans of Magnolia, NC, mother and special “Granny” to many. All that knew her looked forward to her chicken pastry, oatmeal cookies and fresh coconut cakes.
Annie Laurie was one of fourteen children, eleven in which have preceded her in death, surviving siblings to include: Vergie Crawford of Jacksonville, NC, Faye Wiciak of Toledo, Ohio and Pearlie “Coonie” Rivenbark, Jr. of Wallace, NC.
She was survived by her four children: Oliver Wendell Evans (Suzann) of Magnolia, NC, Beverly Evans of Austin, TX, Timothy Ray Evans (Trilby) of Warsaw, NC, Angela Evans Carter (Newt) of Kenansville, NC; five grandchildren: Timothy Ray Evans, II (Jessica) of Willow Spring, NC, John Oliver Evans (Pamela) of Goldsboro, NC, Rebekah Gordon (Brad) of Sneads Ferry, NC, Jamie House (Jennifer) of Key West, FL and Anna Laurie Carter of Kenansville, NC; Six great-grandchildren: John Luke Evans (4), Reid Langdon Evans (4), Clayton Daniel Stewart (10), Madeline Mills Stewart (7), Gregory Hugh Gordon, II (5) and Ella Olivia Gordan (2) as well as special friends Jean and Donald Bowling and Ronnie Ezzell.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Magnolia Baptist Church, 208 E. Main Street, Magnolia, NC where Annie Laurie was a lifetime member. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Magnolia Baptist Church, PO Box 96, Magnolia, NC 28453 in memory of Annie Laurie Evans.
