Moroccan Statesman. He served as the Prime Minister of Morocco during three different tenures (1971-1972, 1983-1986, 1992-1994). Before entering the political world, he was a wealthy businessman and served as an economic advisor to the government. In 1967,he was appointed general director of Morocco’s OCP Group, one of the world’s largest phosphate producers and exporters. Four years later, he became prime minister for the first of three different tenures in this position. He served as prime minister the first time for a year before stepping down. He would go on to serve as prime minister for two more tenures (November 30, 1983 to September 30, 1986 and August 11, 1992 to May 25, 1994). His last tenure was a caretaker government.
