Ashley Davis, Jr., age 79, of Raven, VA passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. He was born April 17, 1939 in Buchanan County, VA. He was a retired coal miner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ashley Davis, Sr. and Bertha Viola Osborne Davis; two brothers, Pearl Davis and Roscoe Davis.
Those left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Shelby Davis, Shirley McClannahan, Shelia Henderson, Melissa Moore; one son, Daniel Proffitt; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Davis, Orsen Davis, and Garland Davis; one sister, Norma Griffith; many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 14, 2018 in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Rev. Charlie Absher officiating. Burial will follow in the Raven Nest Branch Cemetery at Cedar Bluff, VA. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
