Billy Daniel Abbott, 66, of McDonough, passed away peacefully at Sacred Journey Hospice, Thursday, September 20, 2018. He was born in Newnan, GA to the late Lamar Jackson and Gladys Irene (Daniel) Abbott, Sr. Billy was a U. S. ARMY Veteran. He retired from General Motors where he worked on the Assembly Line and then retired from Atlas Roofing in Hampton, after 24 years. His hobbies included sports and playing the lottery.

In addition to his parents, his is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Abbott, brother-in-law, Stan Owens. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Karen Abbott of Bainbridge, GA, Travis and Cora Abbott of Zebulon, GA; grandchildren, Chase Abbott, Chance Abbott, Jordan Abbott, Shay Abbott, Megan Peters, Talen Abbott, Cori Abbott; great-grandchildren, Ayvia Abbott, Addi Abbott, Austin Abbott, Tatum Abbott, Coast Manley, Mae Lynn Peters; sister, Barbara Owens of Covington, GA; sister-in-law, Leann Abbott of McDonough, GA.

Funeral services for Mr. Abbott will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Peabody, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
