Ruby was born August 14, 1929 in Savanna, the daughter of Howard and Mina (Weidman) Metz.
Ruby was a member of First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls. She preached in the community for several years. Ruby spent 14 years farming and retired from Sterling Multi Products in Prophetstown.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Dittmar and three grandchildren, Darrin and Donnie Dittmar and Brian Riesselman and five great- grandchildren, Zach Dittmar, Taylor Dittmar, Katie Dittmar, Riley Dittmar and Brendon Riesselman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda Riesselman; three sisters, Ada Rahn, Ruth Downing and Esther Kness and three brothers, Carl Metz, Paul Metz and Glenn Metz..
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 21, 2019 at First Open Bible Church, Rock Falls, with Pastor Les Funderberg, officiating. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 AM, prior to services at the church. Burial will be after funeral luncheon at Center Hill Cemetery, Mt Carroll
A memorial has been established.
