Georgia Simmons, 96, Kokomo, passed away September 6, 2018, at her home. She was born December 21, 1921, in Corryton, TN, the daughter of the late Guy & Ruth “Haley” (Harrell) Boles. On December 10, 1938, she married James “Jimmy” Simmons who preceded her in death March 11, 1975.

Georgia attended Clay Township School, where for years she looked forward to her monthly gatherings with classmates. She was an active member since 1938 of Calvary Baptist Church. During the War, she worked for Haynes Stellite, and later worked for Delco. She later worked as a training supervisor for the Big Wheel Restaurant, and the Sweeney Special Restaurant Chain for 25 years. Georgia was an active and committed member of the American Baptist Women Association, both Judson and State. Georgia also served on the Sr. Adult State board.

Georgia loved people so much; her home was always open to family and friends. She enjoyed visiting those that were ill, making calls, and helping those in need. Georgia had a great life, even with the loss of those so dear to her. Her family brought much love and joy to her life.

Georgia is survived by her two sons, James (Pauletta) Simmons, and Steven (Karen) Simmons; grandchildren, Scott (Cindy) Simmons, Doug (Marie) Simmons, and Katie (Jason) Moe, who she said was the light of her life; great-grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Gerrard, Jennifer (Kyle) Shaw, Elizabeth Simmons, Brittany (Daniel) Alvarado, Kayla Simmons (Fiancé, Charlie Scott), Nakia and Caelan delGiudice; great-great-grandchildren, Trevor, and Brooklyn Gerrard, and Spencer Ashlock.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband, Jimmy; two sons, Robert Wayne, and Gregory Allen Simmons; sister, Dorothy Tate; brother, Ray Harrell; and her dear loving companion, Robert Mears.
