William Billings, Retired Union Trust Bank Official

William Ira Billings, retired trust officer and vice president of Union Trust National Bank, died Thursday (May 22, 1975). He was 71.

Starting with the firm more than 36 years ago, Mr. Billings held various positions in the bank, including general bookkeeper, assistant trust officer and trust officer of the corporate trust and tax division.

A native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Mr. Billings came here 50 years ago. He lived at 6963 Fourth St. South.

He was a graduate of Oakwood Collegiate in Toronto, and while in Canada, he was with the Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto.

He was past president of SPEBSQSA (Barbershop Quartet) of St. Petersburg and was a member of Lakewood Country Club, St. Petersburg Lodge 139 F&AM, and St. Matthews Episcopal Church.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at C. James Mathews Funeral Home, 2025 Ninth St. South, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. Thomas C. Redfern officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memory Gardens.
