He was born the third of five children in Elkhorn,West Virginia on June 12,1935 to the late Carl and Mae Jessie Robinson.
Jimmie went to Elkhorn High School and was a member of the high school band who later went on to to be named to the West Virginia State Honors Band.Jimmie Later Left West Virginia to begin his career in retail management.As an employee of Victor B. Handal & Company,Jimmie would travel around the United States opening stores and training employees.He later became a buyer S.H. Kress and Company and traveled around the world bringing items like mood rings and other novelty merchandise to his stores in the U.S.Jimmie would later meet his wife Arely at work in New York City,and they were married on June 9,1970.
Jimmie and his family called Greensboro,North Carolina home for 23 years before venturing out west to Oklahoma City in 2003 with his wife.
Jimmie is survived by his wife,Arely Barreiro Robinson of Oklahoma City,and by his daughters TheresaRobinson Bowden of Oklahoma City,Christine Robinsion Wilson,of Raleigh,North Carolina,his grandchildren,Joshua and Lilly Bowden and Kendell Wilson;his brother Danny Robinson of Greensboro,and his sister Henrietta Miles od Elkhorn,West Virginia.
In addition to his parents,Jimmie is preceded in death by his sister Louise McNeil,and his brother Herman Robinson.
