Graveside services for Nora Bell McKee Orr, 93, were Fri., May 11 at 10 a.m. at Little Cemetery in Little with Pastor Wayne F. Knight officiating. She died Tues., May 8 in Okemah.
Born Jan. 13, 1914 in Ark. to Wiley and Ollie McKee, she was raised in Okemah and Cromwell and attended school at Red Mound. She was a life long resident of the Okemah area. She married Marvin Thomas Orr in 1932 and they raised their children and grandchildren on the family farm. She found time to hold a job at Pioneer Nursing Home for many years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okemah. She loved her farm and her favorite "momma cow" she lovingly named "Red." She and Red shared lots of information about how to raise their babies while enjoying the outdoors. She could always be found walking in the pasture, checking on her cattle and growing her garden. She enjoyed vegetables and loved to watch her favorite Morning Glory flowers bloom. Her very favorite pastime was being with her family and making sure all the houses were spotless.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one daughter, Elizabeth Orr; one sister, Artie Elderidge; and eight brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Cleo Orr and wife, Rebecca, of Drumright, Marvin Orr and Ernest Orr, both of Cromwell; two brothers, George McKee of Meeker, and Al McKee of Okla. City; one sister, Edith Duncan of San Angelo, Tex.; and twelve grandchildren, Marty Roberts, Linda Youngblood, Randy Orr, David Orr, Alan Orr, Kendall Orr, Richard Orr, Brian Orr, Annette Jones, Rhonda Thompson, Marty Orr and Monte Orr; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Shawn Brewer, Ricky Carpenter, Kendall Orr, Richard Orr, Brian Orr and Brian Sanders.
