Marilyn Sudduth Hansen was born May 9, 1929 in Bunkie, Louisiana, and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1954 where she spent most of her life. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Ms. Hansen served as Organist-Choirmaster for Barksdale Air Force Base, The Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, and as Assistant Organist-Choirmaster for St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Shreveport. She was a member of The American Guild of Organists. She taught on the faculty of St. Mark's Day School and St. Vincent's Academy, and in her own studio. She founded The Shreveport Boychoir (a community choir) and served as Music Director and Conductor of that organization until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James William and Lucille Sewell Sudduth and her grandson, Thomas Hansen Welch.
