Sgt. Stephens of Pocatello, Idaho had been in Iraq just two months. In those two months Stephens had no email contact and made just two phone calls to his wife, Erin, who lives with her husband's parents in Pocatello. Blake has four older siblings and is the son of Trent and Kathleen Stephens. Dr. Stephens is a noted biologist and part of the faculty of Idaho State University. He was career military, joining the national guard after graduating from Century High School. Blake's last known rank was Corporal but he had completed requirements to be elevated to the rank of Sergeant.
