Mrs. Wanda Marie Powell, age 67 of Brownsville, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on December 6, 1950 in Haywood County to the late James Daniel Ferrell and Gracie Virginia Luttrell Ferrell. Mrs. Powell was a member of Poplar Corner Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John David Powell; one brother, Bobby Ferrell and one sister Shirley Wyatt.
Survivors include her son, James Andrew Kerr of Jackson; one daughter, Laura Michelle Kellum (Roy) of Brownsville; four sisters, Joyce Giles of Texas, Neita Harvey of Jackson, Debbie Sargent of Brownsville, and Brenda Bailey of Brownsville; and her best friend Jerry Alexander of Brownsville. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Mason Kellum, Madison Kellum, Brittany Kerr, Courtney Kerr and Cody Kerr.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mason Kellum, Cody Kerr, Jamie Mayer, Eddie Mayer, Dakota Mayer and Bradley Sargent.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Powell will be conducted on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Mallonee, officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. The Powell Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
