Mable "Lee" Henson Allen age 69, passed away Saturday July 14, 2018 in Golden, Colorado. Lee was one of two daughters to James T. Henson and Imogene T. Henson who both passed away in December, 2017 and January, 2018 respectively. She was born and raised in Charleston, Ms and moved to Memphis, TN where she raised her son and was an elementary school teacher in Social Studies, English and French. She later moved to Washington, DC in the early 2000's where she taught in the DC Public school system. She was an avid reader, lover of all things French, gardening, traveling and sightseeing. Several years after her stint in Washington, DC she moved to Houston, TX and on to Golden, CO where she resided near her son and daughter-in-law. Lee passed away from stroke complications and early dementia.
The family will receive friends on Sunday July 22, 2018 from 1:45 p.m. until the Memorial Service beginning at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston, MS. Inurnment will follow at Charleston City Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her son; daughter-in-law; grandson; sister; niece; aunt and cousins.
