If a man can bridge the gap between life and death, if he can live on after hes dead, then maybe he was a great man- James Dean.

Jason Timothy Tim Strange was just that a great man who made a great impact that will live on. A beloved and respected community member, brother, husband, father, and Big Pa, he leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, kindness, generosity, sincerity, and love. He spent his life working to provide for his family and care for others. Tim never met a stranger and took the time to help others find small joys in life. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with as well as those he reached but never met.

Born October 28, 1951 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Jason Wilton and Ora Gupton Strange. He was a graduate of Henderson High School, Class of 1970. He completed his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at Atlantic Christian College and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. After retiring from Universal Leaf Tobacco Company, he returned to his love of real estate as an agent at Coldwell Banker Advantage. A dedicated member of Harriett Baptist Church, he served multiple roles including deacon, building committee member, and choir director for over thirty years. He served on the Board of Directors for A.C.T.S. and coached volleyball and softball for many years.

On September 11, 2018 we sadly lost a pillar of our community. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., at Harriett Baptist Church, 1354 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson, NC conducted by Pastor Will Breedlove and Rev. Jake Roberson. A private graveside service will be held in Sunset Gardens.

Surviving are his wife, Bonny Fitch Strange; two daughters, Valerie S. Fox and husband Kyle and Elizabeth A. Strange; his sister, Marlene S. Hayes; two grandchildren, Bronson Fox and Mavis Fox; his mother-in-law, Betty C. Allen; and a special cousin, Pat Pegram and husband Maynard.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. All other times, they will be at the home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Blackwell, Ben Gay, Ted Longmire, Wayne Pegram, Billy Perry, Mike Rainey, Mike Satterwhite, and Johnathon Stone.

Flowers are welcome. Gifts of love and remembrance can be sent to Harriett Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Marlene Hayes, 1819 Lynne Avenue, Henderson, NC 27536 or to A.C.T.S. Food Pantry, 305 S. Chestnut Street, Henderson, NC 27536.
