Bruce Edward Ledford, age 78 of Farmersville, Texas, formerly of Livingston, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 14, 2018 after a brief illness.

Born on January 31, 1940 in Overton County, Tennessee to the late Edward and Lerion Ledford. He graduated from Livingston Academy Class of 1958. Mr. Ledford was retired from Mullins Lumber Company. He served his communities in many ways. Mr. Ledford served as a volunteer for the Alpine County Volunteer Fire Department and also served on the Overton County School Board from 1969-1970 and then again from 1972-1976. Additionally, he served as an Overton County Commissioner from 2006-2017. He was a founding member of Grace Baptist Church in Alpine, Tennessee where he faithfully served as deacon for 54 years. Mr Ledford enjoyed reading his Bible, crossword puzzles, yard work, volunteering and helping others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Allie Ruble Ledford of Farmersville, Texas; his children: James Edward Ledford and wife Shawn of Richardson, TX; Kimberly Dian Ledford Lilley of Sanford, NC; and Daniel Edward Ledford and wife Michelle of Farmersville, TX. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Ledford of Monroe, TN; three sisters: Barbara Eganey of Livingston, TN; Judith Brown of Livingston, TN and Teresa Cantrell of Livingston, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren: Ryan and Lindsay Ledford of McKinney, TX; Lauren Ledford of Garland, TX; Corinthia Lilley of Garland, TX; Allysha Lilley of Sanford, NC; Sidney Lilley of Sanford, NC; Miles Lilley of Sanford, NC; Josh and Amelia Wickes, Haden Ledford, and Ashley Ledford all of Farmersville, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark Lilley and a granddaughter, Danielle Neff.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 3 PM at Grace Baptist Church in Alpine, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Dugan Smith Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
