OBITUARY: The Manti Messenger, Saturday 28 October 1899:
Tuesday last Hans Rosencrantz, a young man born and raised in this city was brought here over the R. G. W. railway a corpse. The young man died in Salt Lake City where he has been working for several years and has for about two months been quite ill. Cause of death is reported to be typhoid pneumonia. He leaves a young wife and child to mourn his loss together with many relatives and friends in Manti. Funeral services were held in the South Ward hall Tuesday afternoon and the remains were taken to the city cemetery followed by a large number of vehicles occupied by friends and relatives.
