Robert Dean 'Rab' Shelton, 72 of Ardmore, Alabama died on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Born Monday, July 7, 1941 in Pulaski, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Delbert Boots Shelton and the late Mary May Butcher Shelton. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting with people, fishing, riding around, and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Gay Shelton, a son: Kirk Shelton, and a brother: Tommy Shelton. Surviving are his wife, son, step-daughter, five sisters, five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Steve Hargrove and Bro. Drew Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
