Sarah Denise Hastings, 62, peacefully passed away Saturday evening, September 15th, 2018. She was a compassionate woman who served her family and friends graciously her entire life.

Sarah was the youngest of three born to Amos and Dorothy Aldridge. She graduated second in her class at Jim Ned in Tuscola, where she met her husband of 40 years, Leland. She went on to graduate from Angelo State University, pursuing a career in elementary education, teaching at Anson and Wylie elementary schools. Sarah chose to take a break from teaching to be a homemaker and a mother, two positions in life she deemed an honor. She cherished her two children and happily devoted her days to educating and nurturing them. Later in life, she returned to Jim Ned where she used her gift of teaching in Early Childhood.

Life handed Sarah many trials, but she endured each one with grace and steadfast strength. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and the genuine kindness she shared with all.

Sarah is survived by her husband Leland Hastings; mother Dorothy Aldridge; son Brent Hastings and wife Melanie; daughter Megan Hastings; grandson Hunter Hastings; sister Pam Guffey and husband Joe; brother Lanny Aldridge and wife Sherry; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Lawn Baptist Church at 10AM. Graveside services to follow, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. www.fry-smith.com
